Renovation, Installation and Commissioning

The housing and operation of the 1.2 GHz NMR system requires renovation of the existing NMR suite in the CBEC building on North Campus of The Ohio State University. Once renovation has been completed, several existing NMRs will be moved to new locations within the NMR suite, before the 1.2 GHz NMR system will be delivered, installed, and commissioned.

Key steps along the renovation, installation, and commissioning process will be reported here. The 1.2 GHz NMR spectrometer is expected to be delivered within about 3 years after ordering depending on the production timeline at Bruker Biospin

  • COMPLETED December 2019: The 1.2 GHz NMR spectrometer has been ordered from Bruker Biospin.
  • COMPLETED January 2020: An existing WB300 has been decommissioned to make space for the renovation of the CBEC NMR suite
  • IN PROGRESS February 2020: Planning of renovation is in progress with subcontractors and bidding
